The mantra Om Mani Padme Hum invokes the attention and blessings of Chenrezig, the Bodhisattva of Compassion. The six syllables of the mantra are said to prevent rebirth into the six realms of cyclic existence. It resonates with the vibration of freedom. Although it is said this mantra can not be simply translated, sometimes the phrase "Recognize the Jewel in the Lotus!" is offered as a pointer toward its meaning.
